A little help in the kitchen

How to use it

  1. Choose the date and time the pizza should go into the oven. The planner starts in your device's time zone; change it if needed. New bake dates must be today or later in that zone.

  2. Enter the dough type or recipe description in your own words. Editing this label preserves your timings. Prepare any sourdough starter separately before mixing; this planner begins with ready-to-mix ingredients.

  3. Enter your recipe's mixing, rising, dough-balling, resting and preheat durations. Use the hour/minute picker or type in the labelled unit. Hover, focus or tap each info icon for the step's meaning. The starting times are editable values from the worked example.

  4. Choose Calculate schedule to see the day and clock time for every step. Save, share a link, print or save a PDF, or download an .ics calendar file. Schedules longer than a week show one day at a time on phones. Clear empties the bake date, time, dough type and result and restores starting durations; saved plans stay available.

How it works

The planner subtracts preheat from bake start, then dough-ball rest, balling, rise and mixing. Formula: mixing start = bake start minus the sum of all five step lengths. Stages follow one another without overlap, as in the specification example.

The example takes 4 hours 15 minutes: mixing 15 minutes, rise 2 hours, balling 15 minutes, rest 1 hour and preheat 45 minutes. A 19:00 bake start gives a 14:45 mixing start.

Dough type is your own description of the recipe. It labels the plan and does not change timings automatically. The filled-in lengths are editable planning inputs, not a verified pizza recipe or a prediction of dough readiness. Use the durations, conditions and readiness cues from your own recipe.

Preheat follows dough-ball rest in this calculation. Starter preparation, stretching, topping, baking and cooling durations are not estimated. Include any additional preparation in the durations you enter, following your recipe and appliance instructions.

Every step shows its day and time in the selected zone, including preparation on previous days. Durations use elapsed minutes across clock changes. Nonexistent or repeated bake start times during daylight-saving changes are rejected. Historical saved and shared plans remain readable.

Calendar export contains five preparation intervals and a Start baking marker. Events retain their UTC instants, while your calendar displays them in its own time zone. No external fermentation or baking-time data is used.

Frequently asked questions

Does bake time mean the pizza is ready to eat?

Bake start means when the pizza goes into the oven. Add your recipe's baking and any cooling time separately when planning when to eat.

What does balling the dough mean?

Balling means dividing the dough into pizza portions and shaping each portion into a ball. The rest stage then allows the dough balls to rest for the duration in your recipe.

Does entering a dough type change the step lengths?

Dough type is a free-text label saved with your plan. Editing it preserves the durations you entered. Use your recipe's timings; prepare any sourdough starter separately before mixing.

Can I plan an overnight or cold-fermented dough?

Yes. Enter the longer rise or rest duration and follow your recipe's fermentation conditions. The schedule shows earlier calendar dates automatically. Each stage accepts 1 minute to one week; the planner does not supply fermentation or storage recommendations.

Does preheating overlap with the dough-ball rest?

The five stages run one after another, with preheat after rest. This matches the specified 14:45 mixing start for a 19:00 bake. Stretching and topping are not separate timed stages; account for your recipe's extra preparation in the durations you enter.

Can I save, share, print and export the pizza schedule?

Save uses browser storage. Share link contains your settings in its fragment. Save as PDF includes the complete schedule and general note. Add to calendar offers the complete event file to your phone where supported, or downloads it for import. It includes a Start baking marker. Delete my data clears saved plans and preferences.
